As a Primary Care Physician in the Ambulatory Care Service at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System, you will work as a member of a health care team. You will collaborate with other members of the team to provide medical care to veterans enrolled on the team. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate advanced competencies and skills in assessing the physical and psychosocial status of the patients and members, play an active role in the multidisciplinary patient-aligned care team (PACT), promote preventive measures, manage the acute and chronic conditions of his/her assigned panel of patients and patients assigned to other team members when circumstances requires. Manage medical care for Veterans enrolled in Primary Care Timely entry and use of our electronic medical record system for documentation, workload capture, alert management, and for review of Veterans' current and future medical care needs Serve as the leader of the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) Cross-cover for other medical providers as needed throughout the week. Work in collaboration with PACT members to ensure the overall safety and quality of each Veteran's care. Responsible for all metrics related to patient quality of care. Responsible for positive customer service in all aspects of care Participate in quality improvement, quality assurance, continuous survey readiness, and committee/work groups in collaboration with others. Maintain licensures and certifications requisite for credentials and privileges Meet ethical and professional standards as written in the Medical Staff Bylaws and ensure that work relations are in compliance with facility standards and expectations as written and communicated Other duties or cross-coverage as assigned by Chief, Ambulatory Care or designee based on the circumstances at that time. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: May be authorized for well-qualified candidates. Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program. If selected for this position you must meet specific individual eligibility requirements, and submit your application within four months of appointment. The final award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office.
