Responsibilities SWHS consists of two acute-care hospitals: Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, CA and Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta, CA.
Inland Valley Medical Center
This campus of Southwest Healthcare System, a 122-bed acute care hospital, was recently awarded in the Fall of 2018 with an "A" Grade from the Leapfrog Group as having the highest level of patient safety as well as the Top General Hospital Award from Leapfrog (one of only 35 hospitals to earn this distinction nationwide). Inland Valley is the only hospital in the region to offer Level II Trauma Services, an Advanced Certified Primary Stroke Center, the region's only Total Joint Center now with advanced certification from the Joint Commission for hip and knee surgery as well core certification for shoulder surgery and is a nationally recognized center for weight-loss surgery by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (Also awarded the Blue Distinction for outstanding bariatric surgical services).
Rancho Springs Medical Center
This campus of Southwest Healthcare System, a 120-bed acute care hospital, was recently awarded in the Fall of 2018 with an "A" Grade from the Leapfrog Group as having the highest level of patient safety as well as the Top General Hospital Award from Leapfrog (one of only 35 hospitals to earn this distinction nationwide). Rancho Springs features the largest Women's Center (Awarded the Blue Distinction for Outstanding Maternity Care) in the region which includes Rady Children's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Rady San Diego: Ranked one of the tops in the nation for neonatal care by US News and World Report 2018), the only hospital in SW Riverside County to offer pediatric ER Services from Rady Emergency Physicians for children 14 years and younger, an Advanced Certified Primary Stroke Center, and the da Vinci (c) Robotic Surgical System performing the region's first virtually no-scar single site procedures.

The Material Management Manager oversees the intake and distribution of all components and materials used by the hospital. He/she maintains inventory and par levels to meet demand. Oversees purchasing, shipping, receiving, distribution, and inventory control of supplies hospital-wide. Communicate out of stock, recalls and product changes to avoid delays in patient care of departmental productivity. He/she manages the day to day department operations, including staffing, customer service, and supply chain management.

Qualifications ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
- Knowledge of acute care materials management concepts and supplies.
- Knowledge of LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies used in healthcare supply chain preferred.
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills - verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in systems/process thinking and possesses a working knowledge of financial issues, including budgeting and financial forecasting, supply utilization, and inventory.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5-years' experience in an acute care, healthcare materials management role (e.g., supplies, food, equipment, pharmaceuticals, etc.) required.
- Minimum of 2-years in a leadership role.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- Bachelor's preferred.
- 5 years related management experience (i.e. Purchasing, Inventory Management, or hospital supply chain) in lieu of education.
REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS
- Certified Materials and Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office, warehouse or storeroom setting.
- Fast paced customer service department supporting direct patient care.
- Some minor lifting may be required.
